Approval of Minutes

MOTION: Sen. Henderson moved to approve the minutes of February 19. The         motion passed unanimously with Sen. Davis and Sen. Weiler absent for the vote.

S.B. 173 Residential Construction Contract Amendments
(J. S. Adams)

Sen. Adams introduced and explained the bill.

MOTION: Sen. Mayne moved to transmit S.B. 173 favorably. The motion passed      unanimously with Sen. Weiler absent for the vote.

MOTION: Sen. Hinkins moved to place S.B. 173 on the Consent Calendar. The motion      passed unanimously with Sen. Weiler absent for the vote.

1st Sub. S.B. 59 Workers' Compensation Coordination of Benefits Amendments

Sen. Bramble moved to transmit 1st Sub. S.B. 59 favorably without the "Consent"      motion. The motion passed unanimously.


S.B. 186 Insurance Transactions Amendments (L. Robles)

MOTION: Sen. Weiler moved to adopt the following amendments:

1.    Page 2, Line 39 :    

             39      from an English language policy that complies with this title.
  (4) If an insurance policy, endorsement, or rider is provided in a language other than English, it shall be accompanied by:

(a) the corresponding English language version; and
(b) a disclaimer in both English and the other language that states that the foreign language version is provided only as an accommodation or courtesy to the customer and the English language version shall control the resolution of any dispute or complaint.  


The motion passed unanimously.

H.B. 101 Homeowners Association Amendments
(J. Stanard )

MOTION: Sen. Henderson moved to adopt 1st Sub. H.B. 101. The motion passed      unanimously with Sen. Hinkins absent for the vote.

MOTION: Sen. Henderson moved to transmit 1st Sub. H.B. 101 favorably. The motion passed      unanimously.

MOTION: Sen. Weiler moved to place 1st Sub. H.B. 101 on the Consent Calendar. The      motion passed unanimously with Sen. Hinkins absent for the vote.

H.J.R. 4 Joint Resolution on Remote Sales (S. Eliason)

MOTION: Sen. Weiler moved to adopt the following amendment:

1.    Page 1, Lines 16 through 19 :    

             16          .    urges the United States Congress to act to authorize states, subject to the enactment
             17      of any necessary state laws,
  and subject to principles established in the resolution,       to require all retailers whose sales to consumers in the

             18      state exceed a minimum threshold to collect applicable sales taxes on the sales in
             19      the state.

The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Hinkins absent for the vote.

MOTION: Sen. Davis moved to transmit H.J.R. 4 favorably as amended. The motion passed      unanimously.

Chair Bramble adjourned the meeting at 5:17 p.m.
