Chair Dayton called the meeting to order at 12:02 a.m.

Approval of Minutes

MOTION:    Sen. Van Tassell moved to approve the minutes of the March 7, 2013 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Sens. Hillyard, Niederhauser, Shiozawa and Thatcher absent for the vote.

S.B. 289    Election Offense Amendments (Sen. P. Knudson)

MOTION:    Sen. Van Tassell moved to amend S.B. 289 as follows:

1.    Page 5, Line 144 :    

             144          Section 5. Coordinating S.B. 289 with S.B.
{   90   }        190       -- Technical changes.

        The motion passed unanimously with Sens. Niederhauser, Shiozawa and Thatcher absent for the vote.

Sen. Knudson introduced and explained the amended bill.

Spoke in favor of the bill:            Ms. Maryann Martindale, Executive Director, Alliance for a Better Utah
                Mr. Ben Lusty, Attorney        

MOTION:    Sen. Van Tassell moved to pass S.B. 289 out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.

MOTION:    Sen. moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously.


Chair Dayton adjourned the meeting at 12:13 p.m.
