Chair Van Tassell called the meeting to order at 2:13 p.m. and announced that SJR 8 will not be heard today.

Approval of Minutes

MOTION:    
Sen. Harper moved to approve the minutes of the January 30, 2013 meeting.     The motion passed unanimously with Sen. Mayne absent for the vote.

S.B. 50 Department of Transportation Liability Amendments (L. Hillyard)

Sen. Hillyard introduced and explained the bill assisted by Steve Colby, Office of the Attorney General.

Spoke in opposition to the bill:    Roger Christensen, Attorney
                            Steve Sullivan, Attorney

MOTION: Sen. Harper moved to pass S.B. 50 with a favorable recommendation. The motion passed unanimously.

H.B. 32 Driver License Motorcycle Endorsement Amendments
(V. Peterson)

Rep. Peterson introduced and explained the bill.

MOTION: Sen. Mayne moved to pass H.B. 32 with a favorable recommendation. The motion passed unanimously.

S.B. 13 Amendments to Ignition Interlock Program
(D. Thatcher)



Sen. Thatcher introduced and explained the bill.

MOTION:    Sen. Harper moved to send the bill out with a favorable recommendation. The motion passed unanimously.

S.B. 48 Special Group License Plate Revisions
(P. Knudson)

Sen. Knudson introduced and explained the bill.

Spoke in favor of the bill:    Gerald Summerhays, Rotary Officer
                    Kelly Atkinson, Rotary Officer

MOTION:    Sen. Mayne moved to pass S.B. 48 with a favorable recommendation. The motion passed with Sen. Harper voting in opposition.

S.B. 137 Motor Vehicle Registration Enforcement Amendments (D. Thatcher)

Sen. Thatcher introduced and explained the bill.

MOTION:    Sen. Harper moved to pass S.B.137 out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.

MOTION:
    Sen. Harper moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously. Chair Van Tassell adjourned the meeting at 2:55 p.m.
