Chair Gibson called the meeting to order at 8:10 a.m.

MOTION:    Rep. Peterson moved to approve the minutes of the February 19, 2014 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Rep. Hughes, Rep. McCay, Rep. Moss, and Rep. Sanpei absent for the vote.

H.B. 46    Deferred Deposit Lending and Forum Requirements (Rep. L. Wiley)
H.B. 47    Deferred Deposit Loan Amendments (Rep. L. Wiley)

MOTION:    Rep. Gibson moved to Return to Rules H.B. 46 and H.B. 47. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Hughes, Rep. McCay, Rep. Moss, and Rep. Sanpei absent for the vote.

S.B. 103    Local Control of Classroom Time Requirements (Sen. A. Osmond) (Rep. )


Sen. Osmond explained the amendment.


MOTION:    Rep. Nielson moved to amend the bill as follows:

1.    Page 3, Lines 72 through 74
    Senate 3rd Reading Amendments
    2-6-2014 :
    

             72          (d) (i) A local school board or charter school governing board may reallocate up to
{   60   }        32      

             73      instructional hours or
{   8   }        4       school days established under Subsection (4)(c) for teacher preparation

             74      time or teacher professional development.

The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Hughes, Rep. McCay, Rep. Moss, and Rep. Sanpei absent for the vote.

H.B. 116    School Construction Modifications (Rep. R. Cunningham)

Rep. Cunningham explained the substitute.

MOTION:    Rep. Stratton moved to replace H.B. 116 with 1st Sub. H.B. 116. The motion passed unanimously.

MOTION:    Rep. McCay moved to replace H.B. 109 with 1st Sub. H.B. 109. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Nielson absent for the vote.

Rep. Cunningham, Rep. Gibson, Rep. Hughes, Rep. Lifferth, Rep. McCay, Rep. Peterson, and Rep. Stratton voted in favor of the motion. Rep. Nielson and Rep. Sanpei were absent for the vote.
