Chair Barrus called the meeting to order at 4:20 p.m.

MOTION:    Rep. Westwood moved to approve the minutes of the February 24, 2014 and February 28, 2014 meetings. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Christofferson, Rep. Spendlove, and Rep. Handy absent for the vote.

H.J.R. 23    Joint Resolution Endorsing Tier III Standards for Air Quality (Rep. P. Arent)

Rep. Arent introduce the bill with the assistance of Rep. Redd. The handout, "Tier III Presentation" was distributed to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Hemingway moved to amend the bill as follows:

1) Page 1, Line 17:    After "Agency's" delete "proposed"
2) Page 2. Line 56:    After "(EPA)" delete "is proposing"
            Insert "has adopted"
3) Page 2, Line 58:    After "these" delete "proposed"
4) Page 3, Line 61:    After "combining" delete "proposed"
5) Page 3, Line 66:    After "under the" delete "proposed"
6) Page 3, Line 72:    After "EPA's" delete "proposed"
7) Page 3, Line 78:    After "from" delete "proposed"
8) Page 3. Line 79:     After "EPA's" delete "proposed"
9) Page 3, Line 85:    After "Agency's" delete "proposed"


The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Christofferson, Rep. Spendlove, and Rep. Handy absent for the vote.

MOTION:    Rep. Anderson moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Handy absent for the vote.

Rep. Last explained the bill with the assistance of Jodi Hoffman, Utah League of Cities and Towns.
