Vice Chair Nielson called the meeting to order at 8:24 a.m.

Vice Chair Nielson asked Rep. Hutchings to conduct the meeting.

H.B. 224    Sales and Use Tax Amendments (Rep. J. Nielson)

Rep. Nielson distributed "Pro-Growth Tax Reform & E-Fairness" and explained the bill to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Stanard moved to amend the bill as follows:

1.    Page 28, Lines 845 through 846 :    

             845          (5) Beginning on the date the commission collects the tax described in Subsection (1),
             846      the state sales and use tax rate described in Subsection 59-12-103 (2)(a)(i)(A) is
{   4.45   }        4.50       %.



The motion to amend passed unanimously with Rep. Anderegg, Rep. Eliason, Rep. King, and Rep. McIff absent for the vote.     

Chair Wilcox assumed the chair from Acting Chair Hutchings.

MOTION:    Rep. Hutchings moved to pass the bill out favorably as amended. The motion passed with Rep. Briscoe, Rep. Cosgrove, Rep. Eliason, Rep. McIff, and Rep. Tanner voting in opposition. Rep. Anderegg and Rep. King were absent for the vote.

H.B. 226    Severance Tax Amendments (Rep. J. Nielson)

Rep. Nielson explained the bill to the committee.

            Lee Peacock, Utah Petroleum Association

MOTION:    Rep. Stanard moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Anderegg and Rep. King absent for the vote.     

MOTION:    Rep. Stanard moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Anderegg and Rep. King absent for the vote.

Chair Wilcox adjourned the meeting at 9:22 a.m.
