Vice Chair Peterson called the meeting to order at 2:07 p.m.

MOTION:    Rep. Knotwell moved to approve the minutes of the February 13, 2014 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Anderson, Rep. McCay, Rep. Moss, Rep. Sanpei, and Rep. Tanner absent for the vote.

H.B. 122    Traffic Code Modifications (Rep. K. Christofferson)

Rep. Christofferson explained the bill to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Knotwell moved to amend the bill as follows:


1.    Page 1, Lines 17 through 21 :    

             17          .    provides that in free-flowing traffic on a highway having more than one lane in the
             18      same direction, if a vehicle is following directly behind an operator's vehicle in the
             19      left general purpose lane
{   at a distance so that less than three seconds elapse before

             20      reaching the location of the operator's vehicle,  
}
or if the operator's vehicle is passed


            
21      by two or more vehicles in the next lane right, the operator:

MOTION:    Rep. McCay moved to amend the bill as follows:

1.    Page 13, Lines 378 through 380 :    

             378      evidence that the operator is violating Subsection (2).]
             379          (4) The provisions of
{   Subsection   }        Subsections (1) and       [(2)] (3) do not apply to an operator of a vehicle

             380      traveling in the left general purpose lane when:

MOTION:    Rep. Lifferth moved to pass H.B. 122 out favorably as amended. The motion failed with Rep. Lifferth, Rep. Pitcher, and Rep. Anderson voting in favor of the bill. Rep. Peterson was absent for the vote.



H.B. 199    Park Model Recreational Vehicles (Rep. J. Nielson
)

Rep. Nielson explained the bill to the committee.

MOTION:    Rep. Knotwell moved to replace H.B. 199 with 1st Substitute H.B. 199. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Lifferth, Rep. Sanepi, and Rep. Peterson absent for the vote.

MOTION:    Rep. Peterson moved to amend the bill as follows:

    Page 15, Line 450:        Delete "site" and insert "sight"

The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Lifferth and Rep. Sanpei absent for the vote.

MOTION:    Rep. Knotwell moved to pass 1st Substitute H.B. 199 out favorably as amended. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Lifferth and Rep. Sanpei absent for the vote.

MOTION:    Rep. Knotwell moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Lifferth and Rep. Sanpei absent for the vote.

Chair Anderson adjourned the meeting at 3:31 p.m.
