22 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
23 Section 1. Section 67-22-1 is amended to read:
24 67-22-1. Compensation -- Constitutional offices.
25 (1) (a) [
26 Legislature fixes salaries for the constitutional offices as follows:

33 (b) (i) Subject to Subsection (1)(b)(iii), beginning on January 1, 2017, the salary for the
34 governor shall be set annually by the Legislature in an appropriations act.
35 (ii) Beginning on January 1, 2017, constitutional office salaries shall be based on the
36 following percentages of the salary of the governor:
37 (A) lieutenant governor: 90% of the governor's salary;
38 (B) attorney general: 95% of the governor's salary;
39 (C) state auditor: 90% of the governor's salary; and
40 (D) state treasurer: 90% of the governor's salary.
41 (iii) Beginning on January 1, 2017, until the Legislature sets the salary of the governor
42 in an appropriations act, the governor's salary is $150,000 per year.
43 (2) The Legislature fixes benefits for the constitutional offices as follows:
44 (a) governor:
45 (i) a vehicle for official and personal use;
46 (ii) housing;
47 (iii) household and security staff;
48 (iv) household expenses;
49 (v) retirement benefits as provided in Title 49, Utah State Retirement and Insurance
50 Benefit Act;
51 (vi) health insurance;
52 (vii) dental insurance;
53 (viii) basic life insurance;
54 (ix) workers' compensation;
55 (x) required employer contribution to Social Security;
56 (xi) long-term disability income insurance; and
57 (xii) the same additional state paid life insurance available to other noncareer service
58 employees[
59 (b) lieutenant governor, attorney general, state auditor, and state treasurer:
60 (i) a vehicle for official and personal use;
61 (ii) the option of participating in a:
62 (A) state retirement system in accordance with Title 49, Utah State Retirement and
63 Insurance Benefit Act:
64 (I) Chapter 12, Public Employees' Contributory Retirement Act;
65 (II) Chapter 13, Public Employees' Noncontributory Retirement Act; or
66 (III) Chapter 22, New Public Employees' Tier II Contributory Retirement Act; or
67 (B) deferred compensation plan administered by the State Retirement Office, in
68 accordance with the Internal Revenue Code and its accompanying rules and regulations;
69 (iii) health insurance;
70 (iv) dental insurance;
71 (v) basic life insurance;
72 (vi) workers' compensation;
73 (vii) required employer contribution to Social Security;
74 (viii) long-term disability income insurance; and
75 (ix) the same additional state paid life insurance available to other noncareer service
76 employees.
