10 General Description:
11 This bill modifies Title 64, State Institutions, regarding the reporting requirements of
12 agencies to the Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Interim Committee.
13 Highlighted Provisions:
14 This bill:
15 ▸ modifies the reporting requirement regarding jail reimbursements for housing state
16 inmates by transferring responsibility for the report from the Department of
17 Corrections to the Commission on Criminal and Juvenile Justice;
18 ▸ requires the Commission on Criminal and Juvenile Justice to report to the Law
19 Enforcement and Criminal Justice Interim Committee by November 1 annually
20 regarding jail reimbursements for housing state inmates; and
21 ▸ requires the report to include:
22 • the number of state parole inmates housed by each county; and
23 • the number of state probationary inmates housed by each county.

32 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
33 Section 1. Section 64-13e-106 is amended to read:
34 64-13e-106. Report to Legislature.
35 (1) Before November 1 of each year, the department shall provide to the Law
36 Enforcement and Criminal Justice Interim Committee of the Legislature a written report
37 regarding the housing of state inmates[

45 (2) Before November 1 of each year, beginning in 2015, the Commission on Criminal
46 and Juvenile Justice shall provide to the Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice Interim
47 Committee of the Legislature a written report regarding state parole inmates and state
48 probationary inmates under this chapter, including:
49 (a) the number of state parole inmates housed by each county; and
50 (b) the number of state probationary inmates housed by each county.
