8 General Description:
9 This bill requires the Division of Parks and Recreation to seek to expand Goblin Valley
10 State Park.
11 Highlighted Provisions:
12 This bill:
13 ▸ requires the Division of Parks and Recreation to seek to expand Goblin Valley State
14 Park by:
15 • entering into a land transfer agreement with the United States Bureau of Land
16 Management; and
17 • if a transfer is not possible, pursuing a lease agreement with the United States
18 Bureau of Land Management.

27 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
28 Section 1. Section 79-4-605 is enacted to read:
29 79-4-605. Goblin Valley State Park Expansion.
30 (1) The division shall seek to expand Goblin Valley State Park by:
31 (a) entering into a land transfer agreement with the United States Bureau of Land
32 Management; and
33 (b) if a land transfer is not possible, pursuing a purchase or lease agreement with the
34 United States Bureau of Land Management through the Recreation and Public Purposes Act,
35 43 U.S.C. Sec. 869 et seq.
36 (2) Any land transferred, sold, or leased to the state pursuant to Subsection (1) shall:
37 (a) be included within the state park system; and
38 (b) become part of Goblin Valley State Park.
39 (3) The maximum boundaries of the proposed Goblin Valley State Park are fully
40 described on a map on file with the division.
