7     LONG TITLE
8     General Description:
9          This bill provides that a health care provider has no duty to a nonpatient regarding a
10     patient.
11     Highlighted Provisions:
12          This bill:
13          ▸     provides that a health care provider is only responsible to the spouse, parent, or
14     child of a patient for providing or failing to provide health care.

23     Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
24          Section 1. Section 78B-3-426 is enacted to read:
25          78B-3-426. Duty to nonpatient.
26          Except as provided in Section 78B-3-502, and except to a spouse, parent, or child of the
27     patient, a health care provider has no legal duty to a nonpatient for providing or failing to

28     provide health care, including medications, to a patient.
