Chair Edwards called the meeting to order at 4:08 p.m.


MOTION:     Rep.Oda moved to approve the minutes of the January 30, 2015 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Last, Rep. Sandall, and Rep. Wheatley absent for the vote.

 

H.B. 145         Vulnerable Adult Worker Amendments (Rep. D. Sanpei)


Rep. Sanpei explained the bill assisted by Diane Moore, Director, Office of Licensing, and Alice Moffat, Director, Department of Public Safety, Bureau of Criminal Identification.


MOTION:     Rep. DiCaro moved to amend H.B. 145 as follows:

 

1.    Page 17, Lines 495 through 502:    

 

495under Section 78A-6-209;

496 (b) shall conduct a background check of an applicant for an initial {  license  }  background check  upon

497submission of the information described under Subsection (2)(a);

498 (c) may conduct  all or portions of  a background check of an applicant, as provided by rule, made by the

499office in accordance with Title 63G, Chapter 3, Utah Administrative Rulemaking Act:

500 (i) for an annual renewal; or

501 (ii) when the office determines that reasonable cause exists;

502 (d) may submit an applicant's personal identifying information, including fingerprints,

The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Cutler, Rep. Spendlove and Rep. Westwood absent for the vote.

 

MOTION:     Rep. Sandall moved to pass out favorably H.B. 145. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Cutler, Rep. Spendlove, and Rep. Westwood absent for the vote.

 

MOTION:     Rep. Oda moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Cutler, Rep. Spendlove, and Rep. Westwood absent for the vote.
