Chair McIff called the meeting to order at 4:12 p.m.

 

MOTION:     Rep. Ray moved to approve the minutes of February 2, 2015. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Barlow, Rep. Brown, Rep. Hall, Rep. Redd and Rep. Spendlove absent for the vote.

 

MOTION:     Rep. Ray moved to approve the minutes of February 4, 2015. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Barlow, Rep. Brown, Rep. Hall, Rep. Redd and Rep. Spendlove absent for the vote.

 

H.B. 175         Alzheimer State Plan Amendments (Rep. P. Ray)


Rep. Ray explained H.B. 175 to the committee with the assistance of Ronnie Daniel, Executive Director, Alzheimer's Association of Utah. Mr. Daniel gave a slide presentation and distributed a handout, "Utah's State Plan for Alzheimer's Disease and Related Dementias," to the committee.

 

MOTION:     Rep. Chavez-Houck moved to pass the bill out favorably. The motion passed with Rep. Thurston and Rep. Ward voting in opposition.

H.B. 194         Occupational Therapy License Amendments (Rep. C. Moss)


Rep. Moss explained H.B. 194 to the committee.

MOTION:     Rep. Chavez-Houck moved to amend H.B. 194 as follows:

 

1.    Page 2, Lines 47 through 52:   

 

47   (b) has been licensed in a state, district, or territory of the United States, or in a foreign

48country, where the education, experience, or examination requirements are not substantially

49equal to the requirements of this state, if the applicant:

50   (i) passes an examination approved by the division in consultation with the board.; and

51   (ii) makes up any deficiencies in the education or experience requirements of this

52section in accordance with division rule in collaboration with the board.

 

The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Ray absent for the vote.

 

MOTION:     Rep. Ward moved to pass H.B.194 out favorably as amended. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Ray absent for the vote.
