Vice Chair Powell called the meeting to order at 2:09 p.m.

 

H.B. 42             Annexation Amendments (Rep. J. Westwood)

 

Rep. Westwood explained the bill to the committee.

Vice Chair Powell resumed the chair.

 

MOTION:       Rep. Ipson moved to pass H.B. 42 out favorably. The motion passed with Rep.                           Anderson, Rep. Coleman, Rep. Miller, and Rep. Poulson voting in opposition.

                          Rep. Pitcher and Rep. Webb were absent for the vote.

H.B. 45             Local Governing Body Amendments (Rep. R. Cunningham)

 

Rep. Cunningham explained the bill to the committee.

 

MOTION:       Rep. Ipson moved to amend the bill as follows:

 

 

1.    Page 1, Lines 12 through 13:       

 

12         prohibits a municipal or county governing body from expelling a member of the

13body from {  a  }  an open,   public meeting or prohibiting the member from attending; and

 

2.    Page , Line 28 through Page 2, Line 30:            

 

28   (1) Except as provided in Subsection (2), the governing body may not expel a member

29of the governing body from {  a  }  an open,  public meeting or prohibit the member from attending {  a  }  an open,  public

30meeting.

 

3.    Page 2, Lines 36 through 37:       

 

36   The legislative body may not expel a member of the legislative body from {  a  }  an open,  public

37meeting or prohibit the member from attending {  a  }  an open,  public meeting.

 

The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Miller and Rep. Webb absent for the vote.

 

MOTION:       Rep. Ipson moved to proceed to the next item on the agenda. The motion passed                           unanimously with Rep. Miller and Rep. Webb absent for the vote.

 

H.B. 53             Local Government Residential Reimbursement Authority (Rep. Johnny Anderson)

 

Rep. Anderson explained the bill to the committee and provided a handout: "Local Government Residential Reimbursement Authority."

 

Spoke for the bill:          Russ Wall, Salt Lake County Public Works Director

                                       Reid J. Demman, Salt Lake County Surveyor

 

MOTION:       Rep. Ipson moved to pass H.B. 53 out favorably. The motion passed unanimously                           with Rep. Miller and Rep. Webb absent for the vote.

 

MOTION:       Rep. Anderson moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Miller and Rep. Webb absent for the vote.
