7     LONG TITLE
8     General Description:
9           This bill modifies the Women in the Economy Commission Act and the Legislative
10     Oversight and Sunset Act .
11     Highlighted Provisions:
12          This bill:
13          ▸      defines terms;
14          ▸     modifies the reporting requirements of the Women in the Economy Commission;
15          ▸     repeals the sunset date of the Women in the Economy Commission Act, which has
16     the effect of allowing the commission to continue beyond July 1, 2016; and
17          ▸     makes technical changes.

28     Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
29          Section 1. Section 35A-11-102 is amended to read:
30          35A-11-102. Definitions.
31          As used in this chapter:
32          (1) "Commission" means the Women in the Economy Commission created in Section
33     35A-11-201.
34          (2) "State institution of higher education" [is as] means the same as that term is defined
35     in Section 53B-3-102.
36          Section 2. Section 35A-11-203 is amended to read:
37          35A-11-203. Annual report.
38          (1) The commission shall annually prepare [and publish a report directed to the:] a
39     report for inclusion in the department's annual written report described in Section 35A-1-109.
40          [(a) governor;]
41          [(b) Education Interim Committee;]
42          [(c) Economic Development and Workforce Services Interim Committee;]
43          [(d) Executive Appropriations Committee;]
44          [(e) Legislative Management Committee;]
45          [(f) Business, Economic Development, and Labor Appropriations Subcommittee; and]
46          [(g) State Council on Workforce Services.]
47          (2) The report described in Subsection (1) shall:
48          (a) describe how the commission fulfilled its statutory purposes and duties during the
49     year; and
50          (b) contain recommendations on how the state should act to address issues relating to
51     women in the economy.
52          Section 3. Section 63I-1-235 is amended to read:
53          63I-1-235. Repeal dates, Title 35A.
54          (1) Subsection 35A-4-312(5)(p) is repealed July 1, 2017.
55          (2) Title 35A, Chapter 5, Part 4, Career and Technical Education Board, is repealed
56     July 1, 2018.
57          [(3) Title 35A, Chapter 11, Women in the Economy Commission Act, is repealed July
58     1, 2016.]
