12 General Description:
13 This bill provides free admission to state parks for certain disabled veterans.
14 Highlighted Provisions:
15 This bill:
16 ▸ requires the Board of Parks and Recreation to make rules granting free admission to
17 state parks for certain disabled veterans; and
18 ▸ makes technical changes.

27 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
28 Section 1. Section 79-4-304 is amended to read:
29 79-4-304. Board rulemaking authority.
30 (1) Rules made by the board shall be made in accordance with Title 63G, Chapter 3,
31 Utah Administrative Rulemaking Act.
32 [
33 (i) governing the use of the state park system;
34 (ii) to protect state parks and their natural and cultural resources from misuse or
35 damage, including watersheds, plants, wildlife, and park amenities; and
36 (iii) to provide for public safety and preserve the peace within state parks.
37 (b) To accomplish the purposes stated in Subsection [
38 rules that:
39 (i) close or partially close state parks; or
40 (ii) establish use or access restrictions within state parks.
41 (c) Rules made under Subsection [
42 transfer of livestock along a livestock highway established in accordance with Section
43 72-3-112.
44 [
45 (a) governing the collection of charges under Subsection 79-4-203(8)[
46 (b) granting free admission to state parks to an honorably discharged veteran who is:
47 (i) a resident of the state; and
48 (ii) at least 50% disabled, as evidenced by documentation from:
49 (A) the United States Department of Veterans Affairs;
50 (B) an active component of the United States armed forces; or
51 (C) a reserve component of the United States armed forces.
