22 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
23 Section 1. Section 10-9a-607 is amended to read:
24 10-9a-607. Dedication of streets and other public places.
25 (1) A plat that is signed, dedicated, and acknowledged by each owner of record, and
26 approved according to the procedures specified in this part, operates, when recorded, as a
27 dedication of all streets and other public places, and vests the fee of those parcels of land in the
28 municipality for the public for the uses named or intended in the plat.
29 (2) The dedication established by this section does not impose liability upon the
30 municipality for streets and other public places that are dedicated in this manner but are
31 unimproved.
32 (3) If any portion of a street to be dedicated as part of a subdivision plat has been
33 previously dedicated and abandoned as described in Subsection 72-5-104(2), that portion is not
34 required to be signed, dedicated, and acknowledged under Subsection (1).
35 Section 2. Section 17-27a-607 is amended to read:
36 17-27a-607. Dedication of streets and other public places.
37 (1) A plat that is signed, dedicated, and acknowledged by each owner of record, and
38 approved according to the procedures specified in this part, operates, when recorded, as a
39 dedication of all streets and other public places, and vests the fee of those parcels of land in the
40 county for the public for the uses named or intended in the plat.
