7     LONG TITLE
8     General Description:
9           This bill modifies provisions relating to discrimination in a place of public
10     accommodation.
11     Highlighted Provisions:
12          This bill:
13          ▸      prohibits discrimination in a place of public accommodation on the basis of sexual
14     orientation, gender identity, or gender expressions.

23     Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
24          Section 1. Section 13-7-3 is amended to read:
25          13-7-3. Equal right in business establishments, places of public accommodation,
26     and enterprises regulated by the state.
27          All persons within the jurisdiction of this state are free and equal and are entitled to full

28     and equal accommodations, advantages, facilities, privileges, goods and services in all business
29     establishments and in all places of public accommodation, and by all enterprises regulated by
30     the state of every kind whatsoever, without discrimination on the basis of race, color, sex,
31     religion, ancestry [or], national origin , sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression .
32     Nothing in this act shall be construed to deny any person the right to regulate the operation of a
33     business establishment or place of public accommodation or an enterprise regulated by the state
34     in a manner [which] that applies uniformly to all persons without regard to race, color, sex,
35     religion, ancestry, [or] national origin [ ;], sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender
36     expression or to deny any religious organization the right to regulate the operation and
37     procedures of its establishments.
