9 General Description:
10 This concurrent resolution of the Legislature and the Governor designates the official
11 hashtag of the state of Utah.
12 Highlighted Provisions:
13 This resolution:
14 ▸ designates "#Utah" as the official hashtag of the state of Utah; and
15 ▸ designates "#SkiUtah" as the official hashtag for Utah tourism.

19 Be it resolved by the Legislature of the state of Utah, the Governor concurring therein:
20 WHEREAS, in the new world of social media, people of every age and background
21 from around the world may take part in an endless conversation about all facets of the Beehive
22 State by using the hashtags #Utah and #SkiUtah;
23 WHEREAS, in a dynamic, ever-changing stream of information that runs 24 hours a
24 day, seven days a week, users of online platforms anywhere on the globe may use #Utah and
25 #SkiUtah to see what people are saying about Utah and Utah tourism and to address other
26 followers of the hashtag on anything and everything pertaining to our great state; and
27 WHEREAS, at any given moment, this unfiltered discussion can range from serious
28 political discussions to humor, from advertising to weather, from complaints and praise about
29 Utah sports teams to celebrations of Utah writers, artists, and musicians; and
30 WHEREAS, social media is transforming the way people the world over share their
31 beliefs, ideals, wit, and fancies, and the followers of #Utah and #SkiUtah are provided with an
32 always fascinating and never-ending parade of what people talk about when they talk about
33 Utah:
34 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of the state of Utah, the
35 Governor concurring therein, hereby designates #Utah as the official hashtag of the state of
36 Utah and #SkiUtah as the official hashtag for Utah tourism.
37 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be sent to the Utah Office
38 of Tourism.
