Chair Peterson called the meeting to order at 8:09 a.m.


MOTION:     Rep. Wilson moved to approve the minutes of the February 29, 2016 meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Duckworth, Rep. King, Rep. Knotwell, and Rep. Stanard absent for the vote.

 

1st Sub. S.B. 123       Office of Licensing Amendments (Sen. K. Mayne)


Sen. Mayne explained the bill.

MOTION:     Rep. Webb moved to pass 1st Sub. S.B. 123 out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Duckworth, Rep. King, and Rep. Stanard absent for the vote.

 

H.B. 387         Utah Revised Business Corporate Act Amendments (Rep. R. Cunningham)


MOTION:     Rep. Knotwell moved to send H.B. 387 to the Rules Committee for interim study. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Duckworth, Rep. King, and Rep. Stanard absent for the vote.

 

H.B. 403         Asbestos Litigation Transparency Act (Rep. B. Wilson)


Rep. Wilson distributed a handout, a letter from Sonny Borelli, Arizona State Representative, and explained the bill assisted by Phil Goldberg, U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

MOTION:     Rep. Duckworth moved to hold H.B. 403 for interim study.


SUBSTITUTE MOTION:   Rep. Stanard moved to pass H.B. 403 out favorably. The motion passed with Rep. Duckworth, Rep. King, and Rep. Pitcher voting in opposition and Rep. Schultz absent for the vote.

 

S.B. 117          Commercial Interior Design Certification Modifications (Sen. L. Escamilla)
