H.B. 325 Office of Rehabilitation Services Amendments (Rep. N. Thurston)

S.B. 130 Tattoo Removal (Sen. J. S. Adams) (Rep. B. Wilson)
Sen. J.S. Adams explained S.B. 130 to the committee.
MOTION: Rep. RayX moved to amend S.B. 130 as follows:
1. Page 4, Line 114:
114initiation of a treatment protocol or series of treatments; and
(b) a nurse practitioner or physician assistant conducting an in-person face-to-face evaluation of a patient under Subsection (3)(a)(ii) prior to removing a tattoo shall:
(i) inspect the patient's skin for any discoloration unrelated to the tattoo and any other indication of cancer or other condition that should be treated or further evaluated before the tattoo is removed;
(ii) refer a patient with any such condition to a physician for treatment or further evaluation; and
(iii) shall not supervise a nonablative cosmetic medical procedure to remove a tattoo on the patient until the patient has been approved for the tattoo removal by a physician who has evaluated the patient; and
2. Page 5, Line 122:
122 { (b) } (c) the supervisor supervising the procedure shall:

H.C.R. 9 Concurrent Resolution Requesting Addition to Federal Controlled Drug Database (Rep. E. Redd)
At the request of the sponsor, H.C.R. 9 was not heard. The sponsor indicated that he wished the bill to go to interim study.
Rep. Spendlove moved to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Redd and Rep. Ward absent for the vote.
