Chair Webb called the meeting to order at 8:10 a.m.

 

MOTION:       Rep. Thurston moved to approve the minutes of the March 1, 2016, meeting. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Hemingway, Rep. Ipson, and Rep. Ward absent for the vote.

 

 

H.C.R. 14         Concurrent Resolution Recognizing the United States and Utah's Participation in World War I (Rep. S. Handy)

 

Rep. Handy explained the bill to the committee assisted by Jedediah Rogers, Utah State Historical Society, and Kent Powell, World War I author. A handout: "The United States World War One Centennial Commission" was provided to the committee.

 

MOTION:       Rep. Pitcher moved to replace H.C.R. 14 with 1st Substitute H.C.R. 14. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Ipson and Rep. Ward absent for the vote.

 

MOTION:      Rep. Pitcher moved to pass 1st Substitute H.C.R. 14 out favorably. The motion pass unanimously with Rep. Ipson and Rep. Ward absent for the vote.

 

MOTION:       Rep. Poulson moved to place H.C.R. 14 on the Consent Calendar. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Ipson and Rep. Ward absent for the vote.

 

 

H.B. 446           Statewide Homeless Services and Affordable Housing Amendments (Rep. S. Eliason)

 

Rep. Eliason explained the bill to the committee assisted by Patrick Reimherr, Salt Lake County.

MOTION:       Rep. Powell moved to pass H.B. 446 out favorably. The motion passed unanimously.

 

 

H.B. 452           Veterans' and Military Affairs Commission Amendments (Rep. P. Ray)

 

Rep. Ray explained the bill to the committee.

 

MOTION:       Rep. Poulson moved to pass H.B. 452 out favorably. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Kennedy absent for the vote.

 

MOTION:       Rep. Ipson moved to place H.B. 452 on the Consent Calendar. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Kennedy absent for the vote.

 

 

MOTION:       Rep. Ipson moved to adjourn. The motion passed unanimously with Rep. Kennedy absent for the vote.
