8 General Description:
9 This bill modifies provisions of the Division of Occupational and Professional
10 Licensing Act.
11 Highlighted Provisions:
12 This bill:
13 ▸ provides that an applicant applying for a license from the Division of Occupational
14 and Professional Licensing does not have to pay fees under certain circumstances.

23 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
24 Section 1. Section 58-1-301.3 is enacted to read:
25 58-1-301.3. Waiver of licensing fees.
26 (1) An individual applicant for licensure under this title may apply for licensure
27 without paying the fees described in Subsection 58-1-301(1) if the applicant provides evidence
28 to the division that at the time of the application the applicant is:
29 (a) on full-time active service with a branch of the armed forces of the United States,
30 including an applicant who is on full-time active duty orders with the National Guard or
31 reserve component of the armed forces; or
32 (b) receiving public assistance through one of the following programs administered by
33 the Department of Workforce Services:
34 (i) the Family Employment Program described in Section 35A-3-302; or
35 (ii) General Assistance described in Section 35A-3-401.
36 (2) The division may make rules in accordance with Title 63G, Chapter 3, Utah
37 Administrative Rulemaking Act, to implement the requirements of this section.
