8 General Description:
9 This bill restricts the expenditure of campaign funds under certain circumstances.
10 Highlighted Provisions:
11 This bill:
12 ▸ prohibits the expenditure of money from the campaign account of an individual for
13 a political purpose if the individual is a lobbyist, unless the expenditure is in support
14 of the candidacy of the lobbyist.

23 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
24 Section 1. Section 20A-11-106 is enacted to read:
25 20A-11-106. Expenditure of campaign funds by lobbyist.
26 (1) Except as provided in Subsection (2), a person may not expend money from the
27 campaign account of an individual if:
28 (a) the individual is licensed, or required to obtain a license, under Title 36, Chapter
29 11, Lobbyist Disclosure and Regulation Act; and
30 (b) the expenditure is for a political purpose.
31 (2) This section does not prohibit an expenditure in support of the candidacy of an
32 individual described in Subsection (1).
