22 Be it resolved by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
23 WHEREAS, pursuant to Utah Code Annotated Section 36-12-7, the Legislative
24 Management Committee, upon recommendation of its Research and General Counsel
25 Subcommittee, has recommended the appointment of Mr. John Q. Cannon as director of the
26 Office of Legislative Research and General Counsel for the Utah Legislature; and
27 WHEREAS, the appointment of Mr. John Q. Cannon in this position for a term of
28 office of six years beginning May 8, 2018, is subject to further approval of a majority vote of
29 both the House of Representatives and the Senate:
30 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Legislature of the state of Utah that
31 the appointment of Mr. John Q. Cannon as director of the Office of Legislative Research and
32 General Counsel for the Utah Legislature be approved for a six-year term of office beginning
33 May 8, 2018.
