9 This bill creates a reimbursement for a local education agency student information

23 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
24 Section 1. Section 53F-7-202 is enacted to read:
25 53F-7-202. Reimbursement for local student information systems.
26 (1) As used in this section, "student information system" means a computer database
27 that provides:
28 (a) academic intervention tracking;
29 (b) assessment imports;
30 (c) attendance tracking;
31 (d) college and career tracking;
32 (e) food service data;
33 (f) notification of student academic summary information;
34 (g) scheduling;
35 (h) teacher grade books; or
36 (i) daily submission of information for state and federal reporting.
37 (2) Subject to legislative appropriations, an LEA that uses a student information system
38 developed by the LEA or an entity other than the state board may request from the state board
39 an annual reimbursement, subject to Subsection (3), for the cost of the LEA's student
40 information system.
41 (3) If an LEA requests a reimbursement under Subsection (2), the state board shall
42 reimburse an LEA $5.00 for each student enrolled in the LEA.
