8 General Description:
9 This bill modifies the duties of the Heber Valley Historic Railroad Authority
10 (authority).
11 Highlighted Provisions:

26 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
27 Section 1. Section 63H-4-109 is amended to read:
28 63H-4-109. Duty to maintain rails.
29 The authority shall maintain the rails, bed, right-of-way, railroad bridges, and related
30 property upon which the authority's train shall operate in compliance with state and federal
31 statutes, rules, and regulations.
32 Section 2. Appropriation.
33 The following sums of money are appropriated for the fiscal year beginning July 1,
34 2019, and ending June 30, 2020. These are additions to amounts previously appropriated for
35 fiscal year 2020. Under the terms and conditions of Title 63J, Chapter 1, Budgetary Procedures
36 Act, the Legislature appropriates the following sums of money from the funds or accounts
37 indicated for the use and support of the government of the state of Utah.

43 The Legislature intends that:
44 (1) the Department of Heritage and Arts passthrough the appropriation described in this
45 item to the Heber Valley Historic Railroad Authority; and
46 (2) the Heber Valley Historic Railroad Authority shall expend this appropriation on:
47 (a) track maintenance, including tie replacement, track-bed improvements, siding and
48 switch repairs, and rail replacement; and
49 (b) the purchase and configuration of a railroad car and related depot area
50 modifications to accommodate customers in wheelchairs.
