8 General Description:
9 This bill requires the Department of Health to publish certain health care cost
10 information.
11 Highlighted Provisions:
12 This bill:
13 ▸ requires the Department of Health to make certain information from the all-payer
14 claims database available to the public through a standardized application program
15 interface format.

24 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
25 Section 1. Section 26-33a-116 is enacted to read:
26 26-33a-116. Health care billing data.
27 (1) The department shall:
28 (a) anonymize the data collected under this chapter to meet state and federal data
29 privacy requirements, including the requirements of Section 26-33a-109; and
30 (b) make the anonymized data available to the public through a standardized
31 application program interface format.
32 (2) The requirements of Sections 26-33a-106 and 26-33a-107 do not apply to the
33 release of anonymized data under Subsection (1)(b).
