8     LONG TITLE
9     General Description:
10          This bill creates a specific statute of limitations for unlawful sexual activity with a
11     minor.
12     Highlighted Provisions:
13          This bill:
14          ▸     extends the statute of limitations for felony violations of unlawful sexual activity
15     with a minor and unlawful sexual conduct with a 16- or 17-year-old Ĥ→ [to either:
16               •     10 years from the commission of the offense; or
17               •     eight] 10 ←Ĥ years after the victim reaches 18 years of age.

26     Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
27          Section 1. Section 76-1-301.1 is enacted to read:
28          76-1-301.1. Statute of limitations for unlawful sexual activity with a minor.
29          The statute of limitations for a felony violation of Section 76-5-401 or 76-5-401.2 is
29a     Ĥ→ [ the
30     longer of:
31          (1) 10 years from the time of the offense; or
32          (2) eight] 10 ←Ĥ years from the time the victim reaches the age of 18.
