8 LONG TITLE
9 General Description:
10 This concurrent resolution recognizes and thanks the individuals who provide accurate
11 data and information to the Legislature, the Governor, and Utah citizens in relation to
12 the spread of COVID-19.
13 Highlighted Provisions:
14 This resolution:
15 ▸ recognizes the widespread threat of COVID-19; and
16 ▸ recognizes the admirable efforts of individuals in Utah's state and local health
17 departments that provide the Legislature, the Governor, and all Utahns with timely
18 and trusted information to address the threat.
19 Special Clauses:

22 Be it resolved by the Legislature of the state of Utah, the Governor concurring therein:
23 WHEREAS, the COVID-19 pandemic has threatened the lives and livelihoods of
24 Utahns old and young, healthy and feeble, wealthy and poor, and of every racial, ethnic, and
25 cultural background;
26 WHEREAS, this deadly threat has required the production and dissemination of timely,
27 accurate, and nuanced public health information;
28 WHEREAS, many individuals in the state's Department of Health and 13 county health
29 departments have worked tirelessly to produce, publish, and promote accurate information in a
30 manner that is understandable and practical for preventing the transmission of COVID-19;
31 WHEREAS, these individuals include:
32 • the state epidemiologist;
32a Ĥ→ • state and local health department directors; ←Ĥ
33 • local epidemiologists;
34 • contact tracers;
35 • data analysts;
36 • web designers;
37 • communication specialists; and
38 • public information officers;
39 WHEREAS, the provided information has allowed not only public health officials and
40 healthcare providers, but also everyday Utahns, to identify individuals and communities at
41 greatest risk of harm and economic displacement, and take appropriate steps to mitigate the
42 risks; and
43 WHEREAS, the Legislature, the Governor, and county and city officials have used the
44 same information to monitor the spread of COVID-19 and craft appropriate responses to
45 preserve and safeguard the public health and maintain Utah's economy:
46 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of the state of Utah, the
47 Governor concurring therein, express gratitude and thanks to the many unsung heroes in Utah's
48 state and county health departments who have admirably provided Utahns with timely, trusted
49 information, adding a measure of clarity in very unsettled times.
