21 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
22 Section 1. Section 17-50-501 is amended to read:
23 17-50-501. Classification of counties.
24 (1) Each county shall be classified according to its population.
25 (2) (a) A county with a population of [
26 first class.
27 (b) A county with a population of [
28 1,000,000 is a county of the second class.
29 (c) A county with a population of [
30 175,000 is a county of the third class.
31 (d) A county with a population of 11,000 or more but less than [
32 county of the fourth class.
33 (e) A county with a population of 4,000 or more but less than 11,000 is a county of the
34 fifth class.
35 (f) A county with a population less than 4,000 is a county of the sixth class.
