8 General Description:
9 This bill addresses pricing by retail water providers.
10 Highlighted Provisions:

22 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
23 Section 1. Section 73-10-32.5 is amended to read:
24 73-10-32.5. Culinary water pricing structure.
25 A retail water provider, as defined in Section 73-10-32, shall:
26 (1) establish a culinary water rate structure that:
27 (a) incorporates increasing block units of water used; [
28 (b) provides for an increase in the rate charged for additional block units of water used
29 as usage increases from one block unit to the next; and
30 (c) by no later than January 1, 2022, takes into consideration the lot size of a customer
31 receiving water from the retail water provider in establishing a block unit under this Subsection
32 (1) if the retail water provider provides water that may be used by the customer for outdoor use;
33 (2) provide in customer billing notices, or in a notice that is distributed to customers at
34 least annually[
35 (a) block unit rates and the customer's billing cycle; and
36 (b) the lot sizes used under Subsection (1)(c) in establishing block units; and
37 (3) include individual customer water usage in customer billing notices.
