9 General Description:
10 This joint resolution of the Legislature approves acceptance by the state of Utah of
11 certain federal funds.
12 Highlighted Provisions:
13 This resolution:
14 ▸ approves acceptance by the state of Utah of all federal funds from Public Law
15 117-2, American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.

19 Be it resolved by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
20 WHEREAS, on March 11, 2021, following Congressional approval, the President
21 signed into law Public Law 117-2, American Rescue Plan Act of 2021;
22 WHEREAS, the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 makes appropriations related to the
23 COVID-19 public health emergency and its fiscal effects, including appropriations provided to
24 the states through certain federal agencies;
25 WHEREAS, under the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, the state of Utah is to
26 receive federal funds in excess of $10,000,000 this year;
27 WHEREAS, Section 63J-5-204 of the Utah Code requires that the Legislature approve
28 the state's receipt of new federal funds, if the state will receive total payments of $10,000,000
29 or more per year from the federal government:
30 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of the state of Utah
31 approves acceptance by the state of Utah of all new federal funds related to the COVID-19
32 public health emergency granted to the state of Utah under Public Law 117-2, American
33 Rescue Plan Act of 2021.
34 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be sent to Governor Cox
35 and the members of Utah's Congressional delegation.
