9     LONG TITLE
10     General Description:
11          This concurrent resolution acknowledges and expresses gratitude for the ongoing work
12     of primary care providers in Utah.
13     Highlighted Provisions:
14          This resolution:
15          ▸     acknowledges and expresses gratitude for the ongoing work of primary care
16     providers to maintain the health of Utah citizens.
17     Special Clauses:
18          None
19     

20     Be it resolved by the Legislature of the state of Utah, the Governor concurring therein:
21          WHEREAS, the health and well-being of all Utahns is of vital importance to the
22     economic strength of the state;
23          WHEREAS, the health and well-being of all Utahns is paramount to maintaining a
24     healthcare workforce;
25          WHEREAS, to reduce the growing costs of urgent, emergent, untreated, and chronic
26     health issues, the health and well-being of all Utahns is critical;
27          WHEREAS, primary care providers work every day to improve the health and
28     well-being of all Utahns;
29          WHEREAS, primary care providers include:

30               •     family physicians;
31               •     pediatricians;
32               •     nurse practitioners;
33               •     physician assistants;
34               •     nurses;
35               •     medical assistants;
36               •     clinic clerical staff, front office staff, and support staff; and
37               •     many others from various disciplines;
38          WHEREAS, primary care providers provide well care, including vaccinations,
39     checkups, preventative procedures, anticipatory health guidance, and other health-sustaining
40     efforts;
41          WHEREAS, primary care providers provide care for those presenting with injuries,
42     illnesses, and chronic diseases that require ongoing maintenance care;
43          WHEREAS, primary care providers work tirelessly to provide a continuity of care with
44     patients, regardless of pandemics, endemics, seasonal viral infections, or other such conditions;
45     and
46          WHEREAS, primary care providers are of particularly critical importance in rural areas
47     of our state, serving a wide geographical area and caring for more isolated communities:
48          NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Legislature of the state of Utah, the
49     Governor concurring therein, expresses its deep appreciation and sincere gratitude to Utah's
50     vast network of primary care providers for their commitment to the health and well-being of all
51     Utahns.
