7     LONG TITLE
8     General Description:
9          This bill enacts provisions to Title 58, Occupations and Professions, related to
10     complaints against licensees.
11     Highlighted Provisions:
12          This bill:
13          ▸     requires the Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing to publish a
14     complaint against a licensee; and
15          ▸     permits a person making a complaint to redact certain information before
16     publication of the complaint.

25     Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
26          Section 1. Section 58-1-112 is enacted to read:
27          58-1-112. Publishing of complaints against licensees.

28          (1) Within 30 days after the day on which the division completes an investigation
29     conducted in response to a complaint alleging unprofessional or unlawful conduct under this
30     title, the division shall:
31          (a) make the complaint available to the public through an Internet website; and
32          (b) index the complaint by:
33          (i) the name of the licensee;
34          (ii) the license type of the licensee; and
35          (iii) any other identifier that the division considers reasonably appropriate.
36          (2) Before publishing a complaint as required under Subsection (1), the division shall
37     permit the person making the complaint to redact any information that would disclose the
38     name, address, email address, or telephone number of the person.
