8     LONG TITLE
9     General Description:
10          This joint resolution of the Legislature sets the compensation for legislative in-session
11     employees for 2022.
12     Highlighted Provisions:
13          This resolution:
14          ▸     sets the compensation for legislative in-session employees for 2022.
15     Special Clauses:
16          This resolution provides retrospective operation to January 1, 2022.

18     Be it resolved by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
19          WHEREAS, the Legislature, acting under authority of Utah Code Section 36-2-2, is
20     required to set the compensation of legislative in-session employees by joint resolution:
21          NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Legislature of the state of Utah that
22     the compensation of the legislative in-session employees for actual hours worked be set as
23     follows:
24          Employees shall be paid the hourly rate as specified in this resolution.
25          Employees who are working their first annual general session shall be paid under the
26     "Level 1" scale.
27          Employees who are working their second annual general session shall be paid under the
28     "Level 2" scale.
29          Employees who are working their third annual general session shall be paid under the
30     "Level 3" scale.
31          Employees who are working their fourth annual general session shall be paid under the
32     "Level 4" scale.
33          Employees who are working their fifth to ninth annual general session shall be paid
34     under the "Level 5" scale.
35          Employees who are working their 10th to 14th annual general session shall be paid
36     under the "Level 6" scale.
37          Employees who are working their 15th to 19th annual general session shall be paid
38     under the "Level 7" scale.
39          Employees who are working their 20th or more annual general session shall be paid
40     under the "Level 8" scale.
41          Senate employees are designated with an "S." House of Representatives employees are
42     designated with an "H."
