22 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
23 Section 1. Section 30-1-2.2 is repealed and reenacted to read:
24 30-1-2.2. Recognition and validation of interracial marriages.
25 (1) A marriage between two individuals may not be deemed invalid or prohibited
26 solely on the basis of the race, ethnicity, or national origin of those individuals.
27 (2) This state, or a political subdivision of this state, may not deny a right or claim
28 arising from a valid and legal marriage between two individuals solely on the basis of the race,
29 ethnicity, or national origin of those individuals.
30 (3) A marriage between two individuals that was not valid or legal before July 1, 1965,
31 solely on the basis of the race, ethnicity, or national origin of those individuals is considered
32 valid and legal in this state.
