8 General Description:
9 This bill repeals provisions related to the state flag and establishes a state flag.
10 Highlighted Provisions:

29 Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
30 Section 1. Section 63G-1-1001 is enacted to read:

32 63G-1-1001. State flag -- Description -- Display.
33 (1) The state flag shall be a flag of blue field, with the following device worked in
34 natural colors in the center of the blue field:
35 (a) in the center, a shield;
36 (b) above the shield and on the shield, an American bald eagle with outstretched wings;
37 (c) the top of the shield pierced with six arrows arranged crosswise;
38 (d) upon the shield and under the arrows, the word "Industry" and below the word
39 "Industry," in the center of the shield, a beehive;
40 (e) on each side of the beehive, growing sego lilies;
41 (f) below the beehive and near the bottom of the shield, the word "Utah";
42 (g) below the word "Utah" and on the bottom of the shield, the number "1847";
43 (h) behind the shield, two American flags on flagstaffs placed crosswise with the flags
44 draped to project beyond each side of the shield, the heads of the flagstaffs appearing in front
45 of the eagle's wings and the bottom of each staff appearing over the draped flag below;
46 (i) below the shield and flags and upon the blue field, the number "1896"; and
47 (j) around the entire design, a narrow gold circle.
48 (2) The state flag shall appear consistent with the following image:

50 Section 2. Repealer.
51 This bill repeals:
52 Section 63G-1-501 (Superseded 03/09/24), State flag.

57 Section 3. Effective date.
58 If approved by two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, this bill takes effect
59 upon approval by the governor, or the day following the constitutional time limit of Utah
60 Constitution, Article VII, Section 8, without the governor's signature, or in the case of a veto,
61 the date of veto override.
