7     LONG TITLE
8     General Description:
9          This bill addresses state agency contact information.
10     Highlighted Provisions:
11          This bill:
12          ▸     requires a state agency or political subdivision to post contact information on its
13     website; and
14          ▸     for each function or public service provided, requires a state agency or political
15     subdivision to identify an employee to contact.

25     Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
26          Section 1. Section 63G-31-101 is enacted to read:

CHAPTER 31. STATE AGENCY CONTACT INFORMATION


28          63G-31-101. Definitions.
29          As used in this chapter:
30          (1) "Political subdivision" means:
31          (a) a county;
32          (b) a municipality;
33          (c) a special district;
34          (d) a special service district;
35          (e) an interlocal entity;
36          (f) a community reinvestment agency;
37          (g) a local building authority; or
38          (h) a conservation district.
39          (2) "State agency" means a department, division, board, council, committee, institution,
40     office, bureau, or other similar administrative unit of the executive branch of state government.
41          Section 2. Section 63G-31-102 is enacted to read:
42          63G-31-102. State agency contact information.
43          (1) Each state agency or political subdivision shall post contact information on the state
44     agency's or political subdivision's website in a manner that:
45          (a) is easily identifiable and accessible on the homepage of the website; and
46          (b) identifies an employee for each function, public service, duty, or role of the state
47     agency or political subdivision, including the employee's name, title, email address, and direct
48     phone number.
49          Section 3. Effective date.
50          This bill takes effect on May 1, 2024.
