7     LONG TITLE
8     General Description:
9          This bill modifies provisions related to places of public accommodation.
10     Highlighted Provisions:
11          This bill:
12          ▸     clarifies the scope of state law governing places of public accommodation.

21     Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
22          Section 1. Section 13-7-3 is amended to read:
23          13-7-3. Equal right in business establishments, places of public accommodation,
24     and enterprises regulated by the state.
25          (1) All persons within the jurisdiction of this state are free and equal and are entitled to

26     full and equal accommodations, advantages, facilities, privileges, goods and services in all
27     business establishments and in all places of public accommodation, and by all enterprises
28     regulated by the state of every kind whatsoever, without discrimination on the basis of race,
29     color, sex, pregnancy, religion, ancestry or national origin.
30          (2) Nothing in this act shall be construed to deny any person the right to regulate the
31     operation of a business establishment or place of public accommodation or an enterprise
32     regulated by the state in a manner which applies uniformly to all persons without regard to
33     race, color, sex, pregnancy, religion, ancestry, or national origin; or to deny any religious
34     organization the right to regulate the operation and procedures of its establishments.
35          (3) Nothing in this act regulates business website accessibility.
36          Section 2. Effective date.
37          This bill takes effect on May 1, 2024.
