8     LONG TITLE
9     General Description:
10          This joint resolution of the Legislature sets the compensation for Senate and House of
11     Representatives in-session employees for 2024.
12     Highlighted Provisions:
13          This resolution:
14          ▸     sets the compensation for Senate and House of Representatives in-session
15     employees for the 2024 annual general session.
16     Special Clauses:
17          This resolution provides retrospective operation to the first full pay period after January
18     1, 2024.

20     Be it resolved by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
21          WHEREAS, the Legislature, acting under authority of Utah Code Section 36-2-2, is
22     required to set the compensation of Senate and House of Representatives in-session employees
23     by joint resolution:
24          NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Legislature of the state of Utah that
25     the compensation of the individuals employed by the Senate or House of Representatives for
26     the 2024 annual general session for actual hours worked be set as follows:
27          Employees shall be paid the hourly rate as specified in this resolution.

28          Employees who are working their first annual general session shall be paid under the
29     "Level 1" scale.
30          Employees who are working their second annual general session shall be paid under the
31     "Level 2" scale.
32          Employees who are working their third annual general session shall be paid under the
33     "Level 3" scale.
34          Employees who are working their fourth annual general session shall be paid under the
35     "Level 4" scale.
36          Employees who are working their fifth to ninth annual general session shall be paid
37     under the "Level 5" scale.
38          Employees who are working their 10th to 14th annual general session shall be paid
39     under the "Level 6" scale.
40          Employees who are working their 15th to 19th annual general session shall be paid
41     under the "Level 7" scale.
42          Employees who are working their 20th or more annual general session shall be paid
43     under the "Level 8" scale.
44          Senate employees are designated with an "S." House of Representatives employees are
45     designated with an "H."
