             8      General Description:
             9          This bill amends provisions authorizing law enforcement officers to use a state issued
             10      vehicle.
             11      Highlighted Provisions:

             20      AMENDS:
             21           67-5-23 , as enacted by Laws of Utah 2007, Chapter 67

             23      Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
             24          Section 1. Section 67-5-23 is amended to read:
             25           67-5-23. Use of state vehicles for law enforcement officers.
             26          (1) The attorney general may authorize [up to 28] law enforcement officers, as defined
             27      under Section 53-13-103 , who are employees in the Office of the Attorney General to use a
             28      state issued vehicle for official and [personal] commuter use.
             29          (2) An employee shall use, and the attorney general shall authorize the use of, a vehicle


             30      under Subsection (1) subject to the rules adopted by the Division of Fleet Operations in
             31      accordance with Section 63A-9-401 .
