7     LONG TITLE
8     General Description:
9          This bill amends the Medical Assistance Act.
10     Highlighted Provisions:
11          This bill:
12          ▸     creates the position of Medicaid long-term support services housing coordinator
13     within the Medicaid program; and
14          ▸     specifies the duties of the coordinator.
15     Money Appropriated in this Bill:
16          This bill appropriates in fiscal year 2018:
17          ▸     to the Department of Health - Medicaid and Health Financing - Medicaid
18     Operations as an ongoing appropriation:
19               •     from the General Fund, $57,200;
20               •     from Federal Funds, $57,200.
21     Other Special Clauses:

27     Be it enacted by the Legislature of the state of Utah:
28          Section 1. Section 26-18-414 is enacted to read:
29          26-18-414. Medicaid long-term support services housing coordinator.

30          (1) There is created within the Medicaid program a full-time-equivalent position of
31     Medicaid long-term support services housing coordinator.
32          (2) The coordinator shall help Medicaid recipients receive long-term support services
33     in a home or other community-based setting rather than in a nursing home or other institutional
34     setting by:
35          (a) working with municipalities, counties, the Housing and Community Development
36     Division within the Department of Workforce Services, and others to identify
37     community-based settings available to recipients;
38          (b) working with the same entities to promote the development, construction, and
39     availability of additional community-based settings;
40          (c) training Medicaid case managers and support coordinators on how to help Medicaid
41     recipients move from an institutional setting to a community-based setting; and
42          (d) performing other related duties.
43          Section 2. Appropriation.
44          The following sums of money are appropriated for the fiscal year beginning July 1,
45     2017, and ending June 30, 2018. These are additions to amounts previously appropriated for
46     fiscal year 2018. Under the terms and conditions of Title 63J, Chapter 1, Budgetary Procedures
47     Act, the Legislature appropriates the following sums of money from the funds or accounts
48     indicated for the use and support of the government of the state of Utah.
