Fiscal Note

HB0167 - Cooperative Wildlife Management Units

State Impact:
No fiscal impact. The Division of Wildlife Resources receives the face value of all permits, regardless of the distribution between public/private permitees.
Individual and Business Impact:
This bill would increase from 10 percent to 30 percent the required number of buck deer and bull elk permits sold by a Cooperative Wildlife Management Unit's (CWMU) owners to the general public. Members of the general public pay only the Division permit fee. Private permitees pay the Division fee plus the established CWMU fee. Therefore, this bill would increase hunting opportunities to the general public, but would reduce revenues to CWMU landowners.
