State Impact:
The Tax Comission - Motor Vehicle operations will require approximately $15,000 for a one-time reprogramming expense to accommodate the changes in this bill. Public
Safety would expect to loose approximately $140,000 from reduced fee income.
There will also be some incidental costs associated with rulemaking regarding safety inspection apprenticeship program for high schools. These costs can be
accommodated within existing budgets.

Individual and Business Impact:
Inspection fees for individuals will be increased by:
$1 for a motorcycle,
$3 for a car, and
$4 for a 4 wheel drive vehicle.
A safety inspection apprenticeship program will be available to high school students. Safety inspection stations will loose revenue from newer cars not requiring
inspection.
