SB2009 - Criminal Penalties for Riots and False Alarms

State Impact:
This bill will increase the penalty for certain crimes from a Class B misdemeanor to a Class A misdemeanor increasing the potential prison time by six months. There will be no additional state costs for FY 2002 but there may be a funding increase requirement for Corrections in FY 2003.
Individual and Business Impact:
There may be extended prison time for offenders of specified offenses thereby affecting their income potential.
