Line Item: Workforce Services

Function

Prior to FY 2011, the Department of Workforce Services had only one line item for all programs. During the 2010 General Session, the Legislature created two new line items for FY 2011, Unemployment Insurance and Unemployment Compensation Fund, to be separate from the main Workforce Services line item. Then in FY 2012, the programs withn the Workforce Services line item were transferred to the Administration, Operations and Policy, and General Assistance line items. The Workforce Services line item is no longer used in the budgeting process (beginning with FY 2012 going forward).
