HB0091S01 - Commission on Criminal and Juvenile Justice Funding
State Impact:
Enactment of this bill is estimated to reduce the General Fund by $2,250,000 in FY 2008; and $2,370,000 in FY 2009 and each fiscal year thereafter. These funds, slightly more than the 8.25% of the criminal surcharge previously deposited in the General Fund, will be deposited in a new Law Enforcement Operations Restricted Account within the General Fund. The Utah Commission on Criminal and Juvenile Justice is directed to allocate grants from this new account to state, local, or multi-jurisdictional law enforcement agencies as stipulated by provisions in the bill.
