State Impact:
Enactment of this bill will require an appropriation to the Attorney General from the General Fund equal to $65,500 one-time in FY 2009 for equipment needs and $400,300 ongoing beginning FY 2009 for additional staff and associated costs. The Courts will require an ongoing General Fund appropriation of $28,900 beginning FY 2009 for additional judicial costs. It is estimated that state revenues will increase by $18,000 annually beginning FY 2009, for a net General Fund cost of $476,700 in FY 2009 and $411,200 in FY 2010.
