HB0476 - Pay of National Guard Members
State Impact:
Provisions of this bill requires the state to pay National Guard Members at the same rate as the federal active duty rate if they are called into service of the state. The State currently pays their members at the active duty rate with the exception of benefits. Future costs associated with provisions of this bill for state activation of members are expected to be paid from either reimbursement from DPS/Homeland Security Funds or through FEMA funding. Dependent on the type of emergency that occurs some General Fund appropriations will be required to match federal FEMA funds.
